EVENT COVERAGE HIGHLIGHTS: STERLING STAND-UP PRESENTS PRETTY FUNNY COMEDY LA EDITION @ THREE CLUBS IN HOLLYWOOD

On Monday, August 12th, 2024, Sterling Stand-Up kicked off its live comedy series with Pretty Funny Comedy, LA Edition at the legendary Three Clubs in Hollywood, California. Our Firm400 Media Photographer Chris Brody was in attendance capturing highlights from that evening. The New York comedy collective, founded by Canadian Mackenzie Jaquish, has been riding high on the success of its Pretty Funny Comedy off-Broadway show and Sleep Over Tour. The Pretty Funny Comedy, LA Edition features Elke Thomas, Emma Smith Walls, Danna Kiel, Jimil Anne, and Rachel Sterling as the guest headliner. The 90-minute show is a must-see for comedy lovers. The vibe is perfect for a date night or a boujee babes' night out.

STERLING STAND-UP presents a series of comedy collaborations at the legendary Three Clubs in Hollywood. The iconic venue has been a bar since the 1940's, with a rich legacy that continues to this day. Marc Smith and Matthew Webb launched this vintage 1950's and 1960's classic bar and lounge in 1991, and it has remained a popular Hollywood haunt for generations. Hollywood's elite have frequented the bar not just to wet their whistle, but some even became part of its family before making it big. For example, Rio Hackford ran the door in the 90's, and once upon a time, Renee Zellweger worked as a barback at this watering hole, which can be seen in countless TV shows and films, including Mad Men and Swingers.

The Three Clubs is now home to Sterling Stand-Up, a series of comedy collaborations curated and produced by stand-up comedian and actress Rachel Sterling. Past drop-ins have included Patton Oswalt, Nick Kroll, Brittany Furlan, and Dan Levy. Rachel is best known for her television and film appearances in Wedding Crashers, Reno 911!, True Blood, and Modern Family. The former Pussycat Doll draws on her Hollywood experiences as the basis for her anecdotal comedy. Rachel's observational and topical humor takes the audience on a joyride through her world of Hollywood glamour, mental health issues, multiple marriages, and her troubling addiction to celebrity gossip.
